John Muratore, classical guitar and Roberto Cassan, accordion will open the 11th season of Sunday afternoon at the ‘Greenough House concerts on Sunday, October 3 at 3:00 pm. at the historic Loring-Greenough House, 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain. This historic setting is the perfect place to experience the subtle interplay of the two instruments as Muratore and Cassan combine the intimacy of chamber music with the spontaneity of jazz. The program will feature music from their new CD, Domenie, which includes a wide variety of musical genres, including classical, tango, folk and jazz. Traditional tangos such as “Milonga de mis Amores” and “El Choclo” as well as arrangements by Astor Piazzolla will be performed. Also arrangements of Claude Debussy's piano music, Paraguayan dances and original music by Roberto Cassan..
The series recreates the atmosphere of 18th and 19th century “musical afternoons” in the 1760 Loring-Greenough House on the first and third Sundays of each month, October through May.
