Mimi Rabson’s String Theory Trio, Boston's fiercest string trio improvises chamber music, with special guests Berklee’s Free Improvisation String Ensemble . Mimi Rabson and Alishah Raven, 5-string violins, and Junko Fujiwara ,‘cello, present repertoire of new chamber music that includes improvisation for string trio. Drawing inspiration from Lawrence "Butch" Morris and Walter Thompson, this trio combines composition and directed improvisation. Each player brings years of experience as classical players, composers and improvisors. Together they play 21st century chamber music, on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at the historic Loring-Greenough House, 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain in the 14th season of the Sunday Afternoon at the ‘Greenough House Parlor Concert Series.

The Sunday Afternoon at the ‘Greenough House series recreates the atmosphere of 18th and 19th century “musical afternoons” in the 1760 Loring-Greenough House, twice monthly, October to May.
