Even one call, letter or email expressing concern about an issue can get your lawmaker's attention. Join Socializing for Justice for a Skillshare on how to Make Your Voice Matter With Lawmakers on April 1st, 6:00 - 8:30 PM.

Fee: $10-$20 (sliding scale) is split with the trainer.
Limited space - register ahead of time.
Credit cards accepted online. Cash only at the door (if space available).

SoJust hosts events that draw progressives of all stripes that share common values but may work on different issues. We create social spaces that allow for the possibility of cross-issue connections and run a Skillshare Series, hosted by The NonProfit Center*, which increases our individual capacity for movement building.

Make Your Voice Matter With Lawmakers: No Experience Necessary
This empowering session is for people who care about social justice and want to eliminate the root causes of social problems and inequities. The workshop focuses on easy ways to share opinions with public officials who can make a difference. Learn what carries weight with lawmakers and the key role constituents play. Discover how to adapt your interpersonal skills to influence lawmakers’ thinking and votes. Find out how to grab your lawmaker’s attention in just a few minutes a month. Leave with the skills and confidence to act on your beliefs.

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER
Miriam Stein, MSW, is an experienced advocacy trainer, consultant and speaker. She is committed to helping people from all walks of life become comfortable expressing their views to lawmakers. Her recent book, Make Your Voice Matter With Lawmakers: No Experience Necessary is based on a unique curriculum Miriam developed for her advocacy workshops.
Miriam is the Advocacy Consultant to the Interfaith Advocacy Network to End Family Homelessness. Previously, she was Director of Governmental Affairs at the National Association of Social Workers, MA Chapter and Director of Communications at the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition. She heads the Diversity Advisory Committee to the Superintendent of Schools in Arlington, MA and was co-chair of Arlington’s Diversity Task Group for more than ten years.
