Event Description

Join Project 10 East Inc. and MASALA for Tihar, a festival of South Asian culture and cuisine, to benefit the Blue Diamond Society, the only organization supporting gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender citizens in the nation of Nepal.

Tihar is free to attend and open to all ages. The program will include a traditional Nepalese dance by Aditi Sapkota and Sunita Bhandary, a spoken word performance by Starr Chung of Between Us Bois, a performance by Mesma, a celebrated master of traditional and contemporary Indian dance, and a Bollywood dance lesson by Anita Sharma. A reception will follow the program, with South Asian music and traditional foods.

All proceeds from Tihar benefit the Blue Diamond Society and their ambitious plan to launch Nepal's first lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex student forum.
