Got Dog Friendly Beaches?

Anyone know a good beach/place for dogs to go swimming?? I know the season doesn't open till Memorial Day, but I still would like to hear from someone who's been there, before I go rolling up to the beach with my poodle pup.

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately I think that winter is the earliest we will be able to get a puppy since wedding planning and new house renovation is taking up all our time. What kind of dog do you have? We were thinking of a French Bulldog.
