"Here is the BRA the night of their vote. The sole dissenting vote came from the sole appointee of the governor."

BRA selling Yawkey Way to Red Sox for a pittance - can we stop it?

Recently the BRA decided to sell the rights to Yawkey Way to the Red Sox for about $7.3 million, to be paid over 10 years. They negotiated this deal behind closed doors, without any input from the neighborhood. They also did not get a real appraisal of the value of this land.Given that the Red Sox make about $5 million a year on the street, I'd say it is clearly worth more than $7.3 million. The Boston Finance Commission (an independent watchdog agency) has called this an agreement that will…See More

"The worst are multi-family rental buildings. I feel like the landlords have made a cost benefit analysis in that it costs them more to hire people to do the work then it would cost them in fines."

How to work with neighbors who do not shovel?

Posted on January 17, 2011 at 1:45pm 10 Comments

Hi I was looking for some advice on how to deal with a neighbor who does not shovel their walk.

I have been here in JP for about 4 years. Over that time there has always been one neighbor who consistently does not shovel. I have only seen their sidewalk shoveled once in that time period.

My wife asked them about it last winter and their reply, "We are just girls, we can't do it."
