Snow & Parking Wars

Posted on January 30, 2011 at 11:00am 15 Comments

I used to have my own little parking space when I was renting, but now I have to compete for street parking in JP.  I think this is usually no big deal, but it's quickly become a pain with all of the snow.  I had no idea what a pain this could be.

I realize that the official rule for marking your parking space is now 48 hours following the end of a snow emergency.  I think that makes sense... people should be able to use the spot they spent hours shoveling out for a bit of…

GPS Stolen Sunday from Paul Gore, suspicious teenagers looking into cars midday Monday

Matt,
I believe you are not a vandal. I used "you/your" in the general sense.
You might be right about some of us getting more riled up about this.
I do my share of shoveling. I've had spots I actually shoveled, marked by someone else.
I've actually had my car vandalized in spots i've cleared myself. As someone else mentioned, spot-saving causes more problems than it solves. By my covert actions, I've gotten people on my street to stop using markers. My street nows always has plenty of parking for everyone because everyone does their own little bit. I welcome you to join "The Force/Dark Side."
