CVS Expansion to include take out pizza?

I've heard that the CVS at the corner of Centre St and South Huntington is looking to expand into the space vacated by Petal and Leaf and that it will include take out pizza, (rumored to be perhaps Domino's Pizza). Does anyone else know about this? Neighbors have previously expressed concern that we don't need chain fast food places, and we certainly don't need more pizza places.

The hearing is on Tuesday August 4th at 10:30am in Room 801 City Hall.

Hi JP!

Thank you to everyone who came out last night to the meeting. I wanted to let you know that the applicant requested a deferral this morning (Tues Aug 4th) to continue the community process and will be back before the Zoning Board of Appeal on Tuesday, October 6th at 11:30 AM.

The applicant will need to go before the JP Neighborhood Council Zoning Committee, a meeting that will probably take place in September. I'll keep you informed of the next steps and when these meetings occur, and they are also publicized in the Agenda section of the JP Gazette.

Hi Everyone,

This applicant will have to go through a pretty extensive community process for their CV and take out licenses. They will need to present their plans to multiple community groups including the JP Zoning Committee, JP Business and Professional Association, and Jamaica Pond Association.

I believe their first stop is the Jamaica Pond Association on August 3rd at 7:30 PM at the Rogerson House at 434 Jamaicaway. I encourage you to come out to one or all of these community meetings as they are scheduled.

I am in full agreement. I DO NOT WANT Dominoes in JP. Does anyone know if we can write in our statement to this meeting?

It is a Dominos, and with all the small mom and pop pizza joints along centre street, I strongly believe people that we do not need chain fast food in jp, which may put some of these smaller stores out of buisness, Jamaica Plain is not a strip mall and hopefully never will be.
