Are you looking for a fun, safe outdoor activity located not too far from home this weekend? Would you like to learn more about nature and support open space at the same time? Join Greenwalks this Saturday, May 1st, for walk around Houghton Pond in the Blue Hills. We will be exploring the natural communities and "special finds" as we walk the trail around the pond. Greenwalks will meet at 9am (and end around 11:30) at the main DCR parking lot (by the visitor's center). Look for the white fedora and the Greenwalks sign.
A $20.00 donation is requested. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to support local open space acquisition and management.Checks may be made payable to Greenwalks.
Housekeeping:
Please dress appropriately for a casual walk on an unpaved surface.
Bug spray may be a good idea.
Snacks, water and lunch will not be provided, so bring something to nosh if you are of the ilk.
Bees are out, so if insect allergies are a possibility, please bring what is appropriate.
