We've got an exciting new project we’ll be testing out this Wednesday during the snow storm - we are expecting well over a foot of snow!
We are going to be using a super cool new technology called GroundCrew to coordinate those of your who are willing to help shovel out neighbors in need.
Here's how to get involved:
1) Sign up to help shovel, text "Your Name" to 617-394-1588 or get the iphone app, or
2) Submit an address of a neighbor who needs help shoveling at
3) Help coordinate the project - join this group.
How it works: We'll send you on missions which you can accept or decline (based on your location and availability) to shovel out neighbors in need who have medical conditions, are elderly, are disabled, are sick, or are caring for your children or someone else.
We'll be able to communicate back and forth - so if you need help, or find it's already shoveled, you can report back in and update us. We'll then offer you another mission, which we hope you’ll accept.
We've got a very short amount of time to make this happen and it will be our first time - so please be patient with our goofs AND also start getting exciting - this should be awesome!

This is a great idea all!
Can we go one step further and support the youth at the same time? Hiring young people to shovel will build a relationship and support them $!
Here are some contacts of orgs that work with youth: Beantown Society: 617-524-6373; Teen Empowerment: 617-442-4684.
THANK YOU!
