Looking out for each other, theft from a local business

Hi Neighbors!

Last night someone saw fit to steal one of the large ceramic planters from in front of Vee Vee restaurant. This planter was quite heavy and it was a bit of a project to take it, but take it they did, after dumping out the dirt on the sidewalk. It must have taken a while, and it's highly unlikely that no one witnessed this. We don't expect to ever see it again, obviously, but what I'd like to ask of you is this: if you're out and about and see something funny going on, anywhere, anytime, please call the police. It would be great if we could all look out for each other and our property. That's part of what being neighbors is about, right?

Thanks for your comment, Judy. I would never encourage anyone to intervene with someone stealing or otherwise doing something illegal. What I'm hoping is that if any of us see anyone doing something fishy -- like dumping out the dirt from a planter in the middle of the night in front of a clearly closed business -- that we would take the time to call the police. Who would steal a planter? Good question! Well, I guess someone who liked it and wanted it for themselves, regardless of who actually owns it. The same kind of person who steals anything. Sad.

Wow, I'm so sorry guys!  Maybe no one stopped because who in their right mind would steal a planter?!?!!

Here is a picture of what the planter looked like. I pulled this off their FB page.
