Neighbors, this is a terrific course offered by BPD! I highly recommend it!
“Empowering Women Through Self Defense”
The R.A.D. Systems of Self-Defense are the official self-defense training programs of the National Academy of Defense Education. The (RAD) Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with risk awareness, risk reduction, risk recognition, and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program.
The Boston Police Area E-13 Community Service Office offers a R.A.D. course using certified RAD instructors. The course is free of charge. If interested in taking the course, please contact P.O. Officer Curtis, CurtisS.bpd@cityofboston.gov, or Sgt. Eric Krause, KrauseE.bpd@cityofboston.gov, at 617-343-5624. You will be contacted with upcoming course dates and times.
