Good Evening,
This is Officer William Jones from the District 13 Community Service Office. Hi to one and all. I hope the best season of the year is finding everyone healthy, happy, safe and out enjoying the wonders of nature. I am reaching out to all the women out there to inform them that our station will be offering free Rape Aggression Defense training starting the end of October at the Faulkner Hospital 1153 Centre St, Jamaica Plain.
To quote from the brochure:
"The R.A.D. Systems of Self-Defense are the official self-defense training programs of the National
Academy of Defense Education. The (RAD) Rape Agression Defense System is a program of realistic
self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only
course that begins with risk awareness, risk reduction, risk recognition, and risk avoidance, while
progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program.
The Boston Police Area E-13 Community Service Office offers a RAD course using certified instructors.
The course is free of charge. If you are interested in taking the course, please contact Elisa Reid, or
P.O. Antonette Ramsay at 617-343-5624. The next course dates are October 27th, November 1st, 3rd,
and 8th from 5;30-8:00p.m. at the Faulkner Hospital 1153 Centre St, Jamaica Plain. Parking is free.
Contact our office for more details."
