At about 9:03am, on Sunday, April 11, 2010, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) located and arrested the individual wanted in connection with a shooting in the area of English High School on March 26, 2010. On that day, officers responded to the area of Amory and Williams Streets for the report of a person shot. On arrival, officers learned that the victim had been self-transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officers also learned that the suspect, described as a light-skinned Hispanic male in his late teens, shot the victim and then fled the scene on foot in the direction of the Green Street MBTA train station. After speaking to several individuals who witnessed the incident, officers were able generate a description of the suspect. However, despite a search of the area, officers were unable to locate the suspect.

After a complete and thorough investigation in the days following the incident, detectives were able to identify the suspect. With the suspect identification made, detectives then sought and secured an arrest warrant in the name of Edgar Tejada, 18, of Boston. On Sunday, April 11, 2010, officers located Tejada in the area of 18 Arcola Street in Jamaica Plain. A search of Tejada’s residence enabled officers to locate and take possession of the firearm used in the shooting.

Tejada, who will be arraigned Monday in West Roxbury District Court, will be charged with the following: Assault with Intent to Murder, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
