On Saturday, May 8, 2010, Jaewon Martin, a 14 year old honor roll student set to graduate from the eighth grade was shot and later dies while playing basketball on the courts at Bromley Heath.
This afternoon, I spoke with some of the folks caring for Jaewons family and friend and asked how we can help.
Here is what they said is needed:
- FACILITATE A YOUTH ACTIVITY: Volunteers are needed tonight and tomorrow from 4 pm to 10 pm to facilitate youth activities such as reading stories, making arts and crafts, and playing sports at Bromely Hall (Next to the Basketball Courts). If you'd like to help please contact Jacque Furtado at (617) 438 0451. You'll need to provide supplies.
- SOCIAL WORKERS NEEDED: Starting next week, trauma counseling will be needed. Please contact Bob Francis if you can help at (617) 980-1007.
