Artists in the Arboretum 2011

Hunnewell Building Lecture Hall September 21–October 23
Opening night: Wednesday September 21, 6:00–8:00 pm
Open Studios weekend: September 24-25, 11:00 am–6:00 pm


The Arnold Arboretum, in conjunction with Jamaica Plain Open Studios, is hosting a juried group exhibition devoted to art inspired by the plants, landscape, and collections of the Arnold Arboretum. Artists do not have to have a studio in Jamaica Plain. Art does not have to depict the Arboretum, but should reflect the mission or aesthetic of the institution or the place.


Art Requirements: Art offered for consideration should be inspired by the Arnold Arboretum. Art must be paintings, prints, or mixed media, appropriately framed, and ready-to-hang with attachments on the rear frame to accommodate picture wire. All works in the gallery are rail-hung.The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University reserves the right to refuse any piece of artwork for any reason. A jury (to be announced) will evaluate all submissions.
