Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Coming home from Centre Street at midnight Saturday an older African American woman was on Boylston St. near City Feed doing her "I need money for a locksmith" scam. Usually she says she lost her keys in a drain, the police won't help her etc. and she needs about $5 more dollars to pay the locksmith fee. She was in the area last year.

Ah, the fix-a-flat lady! She asked me on two separate occassions for $5 for fix-a-flat in Egleston Square. The second time I called her out on how she'd asked me for fix-a-flat a few weeks before, and she got super aggressive and all up in my face. I'm not usually one to worry about people who ask for spare change, even ones who run minor scams like she does, but she seems potentially dangerous. Beware!

I encountered her today outside of Harvest.  She is tall, thin, and had a head scarf.  She said she was from Milton and teaches at the Fernald School.  She said her keys fell in the sewer and she needed money.  I have spoken to the people On Centre (shop) and she has reportedly stolen items from them and Hatched.  Has anyone called the police yet?

Yes, please do call 911. Say you are calling to report a someone who has been running a scam around the neighborhood. 911 is not just for emergencies but how you access police services in Boston. From your cell phone you can call 617-343-4911 to go direct to Boston Police. If you call from your cell, you will ge the state police first.

Thanks for the heads up. Apparently a number of people had fallen for her last time round. Will keep an eye out for her. Does anyone know if we call the authorities when we run into her?
