CONCORDIA CONSORT, MetroWest’s Recorder Quartet under the direction of Shiela Beardslee Bosworth, presents Les dames de Paris — songs of love and ladies from the courts of France, music of Dufay, Mouton, Fevin, Josquin, Willaert, Gervais, Lasso, DuCaurroy & others. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., at the historic Loring-Greenough House, 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain MA. , as part of the Sunday Afternoon at the ‘Greenough House Parlor Concert Series. Members of the Concordia Consort, Henia Yacubowicz, George Mastellone, Brian Warnock and Sheila Beardslee, director, will welcome guest artist Eileen Cecelia Callahan, soprano.

The Sunday Afternoon at the ‘Greenough House series recreates the atmosphere of 18th and 19th century “musical afternoons” in the 1760 Loring-Greenough House, twice monthly, October to May. Founded in 1995, Concordia Consort is the performance ensemble representing Recorders/Early Music MetroWest, the metroWest's participatory early music program. For over a decade, Concordia has appeared as guest musicians at churches through-out New England. Concordia has been heard in live broadcast on WCRB, WHRB and WGBH Radio and has presented concerts in historic King's Chapel and St. Paul's Cathedral in downtown Boston, at Middlesex Community College, MIT Chapel and Williams College, for the Concord Museum, and other venues. Concordia Consort was featured in The Boston Boy Choir's holiday concerts, in two concerts during the Museum of Science's acclaimed Leonardo da Vinci exhibit, and for First Night performances in Boston and Portsmouth NH. Under director Sheila Beardslee, Concordia's players have toured Italy and Croatia with the vocal ensemble Ars et Amici.
Named Ensemble-in-Residence at Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord, Concordia Consort frequently
performs there on Sundays with the Parish Choir and in concerts during the year. Concordia has
collaborated with Portsmouth (NH)-based Pavane Renaissance Dance Ensemble and often joins forces
with Ars & Amici vocal ensemble. Concordia's CD, Ay me, Ohime!, featuring guest soprano Eileen
Cecelia Callahan, was released in 2009.
Built in 1760, the Loring-Greenough House, a local landmark listed on the Massachusetts and National Registers of Historic Places, is located at 12 South Street (at the Civil War Monument) in Jamaica Plain, MA. It is owned and managed by the non-profit Jamaica Plain Tuesday Club, Inc. as a historic house museum and site for art and music presentations. The Loring-Greenough House is wheelchair accessible.
