Join your neighbors for our First Annual “State of J.P.” The President and the Mayor reflect upon the State of our Nation and the State of our City.  Let’s talk about the state of Jamaica Plain. What is happening with Hi-Lo Supermarket and food security?  What about youth jobs, local business, schools, public safety, housing, transportation, immigration, the environment and other issues facing our neighborhood?

Priorities for the neighborhood will be presented by a diverse panel moderated by Sandee Storey, Editor of the Jamaica Plain Gazette

After the presentation by the panel will be a question and answer session, and an opportunity to gather in small groups of neighbors for discussion on topics you chose

About the Jamaica Plain, New Economy Transition www.JPTransition.org:

The next ten years will not look like the last ten years as we face a diverse sent of on-going challenges; hurting economy, climate change, rising costs of healthcare, food and energy. How can we get ready, as a neighborhood, to ensure all of us live well in a fair and sustainable new economy?

And we would want to go to this so we could get a chance to listen to more of the same as we heard at such length in the recent meeting about Whole Foods?  Same sponsors, same issues. We already know what's going to be said.
