Heather Mattila, Assistant Professor, Biological Sciences, Wellesley College

JP resident Heather Mattila studies the social organization and the communication systems of honey bees. She will explain the different kinds of bees that are found in hives, their roles, and the means by which honey bees communicate. She will also touch on some of the challenges that are facing pollinator populations today.
