Attention Boylston St.! Let's Meet Our Neighbors!

Does someone look familiar and your not sure why?  Do you want to know how the house with the great garden does it?  Do you want to feel more connected to your neighborhood?  Unsure if anyone is looking out for what goes on when you aren't around? In light of a recent incident of a stranger walking around the back of our house, I think it would be a great idea to meet our neighbors - and build a fundamental connection with the folks we all live near. How can you meet folks without having to…See More

"Scary! On which part of Boylston was this? I am near Boylston, down towards the Brewery area. We also had someone recently walk the perimeter of our house (as indicated by footprints in the snow) when no one has any reason to be there except us."

On Sunday, around 5:30pm, our neighbors motion sensitive light went on.  Usually that means a skunk or racoon is wandering between the buildings.....or that my husband and I are heading in to the back enterance of our house.  It was around the time my husband was suppose to be coming home, so I got up, and headed to the back door, thinking I would unlock it and let him in.  To my surprise - the person cruising around the side, and then the back of my house was not my husband or a…See More

Great event we went to last year. It's a silent auction and includes the local restaurants serving up food. Food is included in ticket price and it's doing something for a local organization.

See you there!!

Cooking Group

Posted on March 22, 2010 at 9:43pm 2 Comments

Anyone interested in the Stonybrook area (or beyond) in starting a cooking group? Lots of options - host can pick theme and members make courses, or each host does a full meal and host location rotates. My husband and I love to cook and have dinner parties but want to get to know our neighbors in the process while learning some new recipes!

Let me know if you are hungry for this kind of group :)

Hi Erica,

Welcome neighbor!

Thanks for joining us on Jamaica Plain's soundboard for voices and springboard for action!

Now that you've joined, please read, post, reply, think about, share, attend, and create anything you wish - if something does not exist that you want - START IT!

Please do take the Neighbor Tour on the front page - it's a video right smack at the middle at the top.

Then please read the blog - When to add a Blog, Forum Discussion, Group, and Event to get a sense of where to share what content.

We're a volunteer run community group run by and for each other. Check out the Community Advocates group for roles that need to be filled and also check out the JP Volunteers group to find out what other organization in JP need help with.

We'd also really appreciate it if you'd invited your JP friends and neighbors to join us. You can do that here - http://jamaicaplain.neighborsforneighbors.org/main/invitation/new

Thanks again!
Your Neighbor,
Erin
