Saturday, November 27, 2010, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) while on patrol were flagged down by some concerned citizens about a suspicious male trying to sell a GPS system for a price of $20.00.

Officers responded to the location of the male whom they recognized from prior encounters and there proceeded to conduct a threshold inquiry. Officers asked the suspect about his activity and he readily admitted to officers that he was trying to sell his GPS system for $40.00. The suspect then handed over to officers the GPs that he was trying to sell. Officers asked the suspect if the GPS had his home address but he could not say. Officers looked through the GPS system and found several addresses, none of which matched the suspect’s address.

Officers then proceeded to the listed home address on the GPS and there located a victim who checked her motor vehicle and discovered that her GPS had been stolen. The victim provided officers the recent places/addresses she had entered her in her GPS and they indeed matched the ones found in the GPs that the suspect had been trying to sell.

Officers spoke to several people in the area who told officers that the suspect had attempted to sell them the GPS for a nominal price of $20.00. The suspect, Stephan J. Cuttone, 42 of Woburn was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, and Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle in the daytime
