Across the street from my place is a small lot behind some businesses, and there's some kind of hydraulic pump or something back there that goes on and off regularly and emits a low, extended whine that lasts what seems to be at least a minute, growing louder before dying out. I have four very young rhododendrons I want to give to a good home (and a better, sunnier spot). If you're willing to do the work of digging, I'd be happy to give them to a fellow JP-ite (JP-er? Jamaican?) I live in Hyde Square and have pretty flexible hours most days. (I'd want to be around when you dig them up.)

please explain street-cleaning rules to me...I'm confused...

Hi. I live on Forbes Street. On my side of the street it says they do street cleaning on the first and third Monday of the month, from 8 to 12. When these days come, I don't see any cars moving out of the way. Then again, I got a parking ticket recently, on my side, when it was the fourth Monday. I'm in the middle of contesting it so haven't heard the result back yet, but I triple-checked that it was not the first or third Monday.
