Egleston Farmers Market Goes "Whole Hog" on June 7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Hall

Egleston Farmers Market opens for the season on June 7 with a "Whole Hog" BBQ Fundraiser from 11am-2pm.  Chef Marcos Sanchez of Tres Gatos will prepare dishes from a whole, pasture-raised pig. A variety of sides and vegetarian items will also be available, along with live music and children’s activities.  Tickets for the BBQ (including one drink) are $10. Jamaica Plain’s first winter farmers market will feature fresh, healthy, locally-grown and produced foods as well as music, art, and a free coffee corner. Have you encountered The Cupcakory yet? It's a food truck based out of the Crop Circle Kitchen at the Brewery. Owner Diane DiMarco bakes great cupcakes daily. I saw her parked at the farmers market at the Loring-Greenough House last Thursday, but she is just figuring out the best places to go. As someone who loves going to farmers markets, I've always been disappointed that JP didn't have a bigger market with a wider range of products. Well, we still don't have a super big market, but now we have two of them.

As you may remember, Community Servings opened a Farmers' Market last year over at 18 Marbury Terrace, near the Stony Brook T station. This year, they are holding the market on Wednesday from 4-7 pm, starting July 7. The market features…
