Hey JP,
There is a feature here on the network called Virtual Gifts. You may have noticed it on your my page.
Virtual Gifts are meant to acknowledge and show appreciation for someone. They are also a way for NFN to generate some revenue to support our operation.
We're thinking it would be cool to have gifts like a Jar of Sugar, a Shovel, a Hammer - you know neighborly gifts.
We're not really using gifts yet because we need art work that is relevant to…

FROM BPD:
We hope that the release of the surveillance video will help us to get the information that we need to identify and apprehend the very dangerous individual who committed this senseless and horrific crime. As you will see in the video, Mr. Dangol completely complied and did everything right in this situation.
The suspect car is described as four door white sedan, possibly a Plymouth Acclaim (1986-1992). This car was last seen traveling on Centre Street toward the…

Neighbors,
It's gonna snow - and a bunch too.
Here are some guidelines.
* Move cars from main arterials during snow emergencies. A listing of main arterials can be found at:
www.cityofboston.gov/snow/parking/asp. There is also a map on the
main page of this site.

This Thanksgiving we all have a lot to be grateful for but I am most grateful for the cosmopolitan mecca we call Jamaica Plain. While the past several years of this economic crisis of have taken a toll on many Americans, I feel very blessed to live and work here. And although not everyone here in Jamaica Plain has been exempt from the affects of the economy, we have weathered the storm in terms of housing and jobs much better than most.
So, when you sit down this Thanksgiving with…

Neighbors,
As we gather with family and friends over the next couple of days
let's reflect on all there is to be grateful for and how we can be of
service to each other.
At the moment, I'm grateful for the awesome posts people have been making on the network today. Seriously, where else can you learn about a holiday recipe for Tofurkey and see a home made video about Safety on the T uploaded by a Sgt Krause from our local police station?
Let's share…

Neighbors, over the last couple of weeks there have been a number of crimes committed in Jamaica Plain. The good news is that 911 was called and BPD was able to make some good arrests. Check out Captain Greland's posts -

The bad news is, crimes are still being committed. BPD has stepped up patrols in these areas but they need our help.
Here is the plan Captain Greland and Carolyn MacNeil from…

The first two lanes in Boston apparently were from Comm Ave to the BU Bridge , one on the American Legion Hwy (things that make you go hmmmmm) and now it seems there is one that was just finished last night from Forest Hills Station to Roslindale Village. Matty reports the city just painted the new lines last night. In addition, the city has added new bike cages at Forest Hills and Alewife stations.
