Know of any craft fairs that need vendors?

Summer is definitely the time for buying and selling crafts but I can never seem to find a centralized listing of all the craft shows/flea markets in the area - does anyone know of a listing like this or know of any that need vendors?

Thanks!

Boston Buildling Department is it Building Sustainable Building Practices in the Neighborhoods?

This weather is not easy for a lot of people. I have no sense of what environmental protection activities are being organized in Boston through the Building Department.

On Moss Hill recently there as a house renovation that has changed the flow of water and drainage on the hill and is adversely effecting neighboring houses and the water table and drainage. Should this kind of problem been proactively avoided by the Building Department.

I began thinking about this because of… Continue

Eckankar in JP

Hi Folks,

I wanted to see if there were any Eckists around the neighborhood? I'd love to start a weekly HU chant in the area and perhaps gather together to discuss a spiritual topic!

For those interested in learning about Eckankar, the website is:

JP Branch Library In Danger of Closing

FYI, it looks like the BPL will go forward and close 8-10 library branches and many people think that the JP branch at Sedgwick is in danger of being one of the branches that is closed. There is apparently a petition available at the JP library, but it's also important to contact your local representatives if you're interested in keeping an important part of JP.…

Neon Flamingos?

Maybe some one out there can help me with this one...

I've noticed while driving through JP that there are multiple residences that have a neon pink flamingo in their windows. Some times it is lit, some times not.

Does anyone know what this is all about? Or maybe there is just a LOVE for the flamingo in JP?

Just curious.....

Hello Neighbors:

The Rhythm & Muse/ Tres Gatos team would like to thank all those who supported us at our local hearings, and/or wrote letters of support on our behalf to John Tobin and Felix Arroyo's offices. Your support had a significant impact on the process, and makes it much more likely that we'll succeed in getting a wine/ beer license for our proposed restaurant / bookstore project.

We're making good progress on the design front, and are hoping to…

If you were going to interview a leader you admire, what questions would you ask them?

Dear Neighbors,

I'm currently enrolled in the Institute of Non-Profit Management and Leadership at Boston University. Last week when I met with my mentor, Elena, for the first time, I asked her to help me find my voice as a leader.

Her first recommendation was that I interview leaders that I admire. By interviewing them, I'd learn more about leadership, their style, which will then help me guide me to find my voice.

Please help me compile questions to…
