Traffic Advisory: Rain and Wind May Impact the Evening Commute

The Boston Transportation Department would like to advise commuters to use caution this evening during the PM commute due to the forecasted heavy rain and wind expected this afternoon.

Motorists should lower traffic speed to avoid hydroplaning and skidding on slick roadway surfaces.  An extra emphasis should be placed on pedestrian movement during this inclement weather as visibility will be impacted.

How can we move past conflict back to each other?

Neighbors,

Even though I no longer live in Boston, the city, the neighborhoods, and the people are still deeply ingrained in me and I still care. A lot. I also still believe deeply from years of experience that when neighbors come together and behave compassionately and selflessly towards each other great things are possible - like Neighbors for Neighbors.

How to Make a Family Emergency Plan

The below information was copied from Ready.gov.

Your family may not be together when disaster strikes, so it is important to plan in advance: how you will contact one another; how you will get back together; and what you will do in different situations.

Family Emergency Plan

  • Identify an out-of town contact.  It may be easier to make a long-distance phone call than to…

Prepare for Hurricane Irene Now!

Neighbors,

It looks like we are going to get hit by Hurricane Irene this weekend.

"National Hurricane Center Director Bill Read laid the threat out plainly: "We are very concerned with what's going to happen in New England. The benchmark is the 1938 hurricane. I am very concerned with what will happen there.""

We'll keep you posted throughout the storm. We are also thinking about doing "Hurricane Crew" like we did for the snow storms this winter - stay…
