Curley schoolyard to be a park

Did you know about this - cool!



"JP CENTER—The Curley K-8 School’s grounds will be rebuilt later this year as a combination of outdoor classroom and public park. The new features will include a public seating area on Centre Street, a small performing arts area and an extensive garden with a shallow pond."

Street sweepers out in full force

Mayor Thomas M. Menino announced today that the City of Boston will launch an early spring cleaning program for City streets. Spring officially starts tomorrow and so will Boston’s street cleaning program - ten days earlier than scheduled. This year, Mayor Menino is encouraging residents and business owners to sweep out the dirt and debris from in front of their homes or business and let City sweepers wipe it clean as they pass by on street cleaning day. Snow Emergency and Parking Ban Lifted Today at 4 P.M.

The city’s snow emergency and parking ban will end at 4 p.m. today and the city will return to normal parking regulations. Residents that parked their cars in local parking lots and garages offering discounted rates should remove their vehicles by 6 p.m. As always, city officials recommend that drivers pay attention to any posted signs in the area that they are parking for particular regulations. Residents with any questions should call the city’s hotline at (617) 635-4500.
