This year we have made two awesome advancements and will be introducing phase 1 of SnowCrew.org in a couple of weeks.
What’s new so far this…

We've really made a HUGE dent in the fundraising gap! Already from the support of generous donors and grants we only need to raise $2000 more! This is fantastic because that means we've raise over $10000 in just over two weeks. This is fantastic! We know that with the help from our neighborhood, we can meet our goal!

Just FYI, there have been some recent break-ins and porch robberies in JP and Roslindale. My thoughts on it:
At a minimum, offer to take your neighbors' packages inside when they aren't there and ask if they'll do the same. Or get a post office box to have packages delivered to.
Use rods or window stops (sold at hardware stores) to make it harder for someone from the outside to open your window while not making it that much harder for you to open the window…

Seasons Greetings Friends and Neighbors,
Near Forest Hills T in JP “there exists a small program with big heart and big impact. It is a remarkable place with the ordinary name of the South Street Youth Center— Walk in the door of the Center any Monday through Thursday afternoon during the school year and you’ll find volunteers and staff helping with homework, kids using the computer lab, art projects happening, dancing, singing and lots of life! During the summer, thanks in part to…

There are only a handful times in our lives where we can be a part of something that drastically improves the lives of others. Right now is one of those times.
In Massachusetts, we are in a huge fight for economic dignity - to raise the minimum wage to $10.50 an hour and get 5 days a year of earned sick time for a million MA workers. As part of the Raise Up Massachusetts coalition, we will be to collecting 100,000 signatures on each of these initiatives to get on the 2014 ballot.…

A Column from the Boston Public Health Commission
Hot summer days have meant hours of fun for the children of Boston. But, cooler mornings, advertisements for backpack sales, and the winding down of summer camps can mean only one thing: the new school year is upon us. While each student has his or her own list of “must have” school supplies, there are a few things that families can keep in mind to ensure that their student goes back to school as prepared, healthy, and as safe…
