What's New?

“What’s new?” Sometimes it’s another way to say, “Hello.” At other times it’s a real question – it’s away of asking for a life update; “I’d like to know what’s been going on recently in your life.”

At times that simple question can be hard to answer. “There’s nothing new under the sun;” that’s what Solomon writes in Ecclesiastes 1:9. He says that life is meaningless, a wearisome repetition of patterns and actions that have little deep meaning – “under the…

Bicycle Safety Issues

Recently, changes have been made to the Mass General Laws which will affect operating regulations for bicyclists and enforcement options for stopping both motorists and bicyclists. It would be in everyone's best interest, motorists and bicyclists, to take a quick look. Opening doors of motor vehicles,(door jobs) making turns with motor vehicles around bikes, officers arresting bicyclists are all mentioned. Please take a look. You can find this info on our station website...…

Why Care About How You Live?

Does what you do today really matter? In all reality, you can get away with just about anything - particularly if you try to conceal it. Yet, what you do is very important whether it is detected understood by others or not.

Life at its core is relational. And what you do will always affect your relationships. The first relationship that is affected by your actions…

Stolen bicycles

A quick heads up for JP residents...

We seem to be experiencing a spike in bicycle thefts around JP. In the last 30 days, 15 bicycles have been stolen from all around JP. A few of these bikes have been left unlocked, but many have been reported secured/locked to banisters, porches, fences, etc. Some have even been secured inside building hallways. I would like to suggest that "out of sight is out of mind". For some it may be difficult to secure bike inside property, but it…

Suspect enters through open window in the AM

There was a B&E in the Mozart Street area on 7/15 around 3:30 am. The suspect gained entry through a window that had been kept open with a toolbox by the victim. The suspect lifted up the screen an entered through the open window an stole a number of items. The only description was a male with curly long dark hair. If you are going to leave your window open you might want to put somthing on the window so that it can't be opened enough to allow somone to enter.

Car alarm going off for 4.5 hours

There has been a car alarm going off a few houses away from mine (on Wyman Street) since noon today. It is 4:30 now. THREE different people have called the police, and one person told an officer passing by in his car. No one has come to check it out. We are going completely crazy! It is too hot to close the windows.

It is a dark green SUV, license plate F63765.

Where is the BPD?

What it takes to grow as a person

“Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?” Many of us know this opening line from the nursery rhyme, though we probably haven’t a clue as to what it is actually talking about. Whatever was specifically intended, it most certainly has some reference to growing “Mary’s” sphere of influence.

Most of us would like to build our effectiveness and sphere of influence. Clearly, being a contrary person will not be helpful – who wants to…
